The Strathgarry Outreach Education Programme 2006

This year we once again undertook a comprehensive Outreach Education Programme in conjunction with the Strathgarry Showcase.

Five workshops at local schools took place during the Showcase. For the second year running a special workshop took place with Burrelton Primary School at Thomson & Potter's new Showroom in Burrelton. The workshops were run by our talented young groups of professional musicians attending the Showcase. The outreach work is not only of great importance to the local community who do not generally have access to such music making but also in educating those students who attend our Showcase in how best to convey their enthusiasm for and love of music to the younger generation of today. Local children attending the workshops are always encouraged to attend the public recitals at Strathgarry free of charge.

The Perthshire Schools involved were:

Blair Atholl Primary School

The New School, Butterstone
